I figured I should tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Maria and I grew up in Chicago, but then I moved out to Bensenville/Elmhurst after my freshman year of high school. I graduated from Immaculate Conception, which is pretty much right down the street from Elmhurst College. I am now a sophomore here, and I chose to major in art education last year. Actually, now I am thinking about getting a Bachelor of Fine Arts in K-12 art education, but I have to look into the course requirements for that because it is already going to take me more than four years to graduate because of the additional classes involved for my Spanish minor. This picture is me, my also very tall high school ceramics teacher who inspired me to want to be an art teacher, and a good friend at our senior prom. Those were fun times...
Anyway, I hope to hear from you guys. I dont know quite what else to say, because the rest of me is extremely random. I really like cupcakes and ice cream...and muffins, just ask Emily if you dont beleive me! I also enjoy saganaki, which is that cheese they light on fire and pour liquor over and you should all go to Kopper Kitchen and try some because its awesome (unless you're lactoseintolerant...then...do not try some)

I think the idea of getting certified to teach art at the K-12 level is awesome, and being someone who loves art myself, I am totally going to encourage you to go for it!
